<p class="font-claude-response-body break-words whitespace-normal leading-[1.7]">Simran Jeet Singh, Ph.D., is Assistant Professor of Interreligious Histories at Union Theological Seminary and Senior Advisor for the Aspen Institute's Religion & Society Program. A nationally recognized thought leader on bias, empathy, wisdom, and justice, he works across corporate, educational, and government settings to build bridges of understanding.</p> <p class="font-claude-response-body break-words whitespace-normal leading-[1.7]">Simran is the national bestselling author of <strong><em>The Light We Give: How Sikh Wisdom Can Transform Your Life</em> </strong>(Riverhead, Penguin Random House), a part-memoir, part-spiritual journey that shows how each of us can move from fear and uncertainty toward renewal and positive change. He also authored the award-winning children's book <strong><em>Fauja Singh Keeps Going: The True Story of the Oldest Person to Ever Run a Marathon</em></strong> (Kokila, Penguin Random House), with additional children's and adult titles forthcoming from Penguin and Oxford University Press. He hosts <strong><em>Wisdom & Practice</em></strong>, a podcast produced in partnership with PRX and the Aspen Institute.</p> <p class="font-claude-response-body break-words whitespace-normal leading-[1.7]">Simran has spoken to audiences around the globe, including the opening mainstage address at SXSW 2022 in Austin, Texas, Stanford University's commencement ceremonies, and Fortune 500 companies. In 2020, TIME Magazine recognized him as one of sixteen people fighting for a more equal America. He has served as an Atlantic Fellow for Racial Equity with Columbia University and the Nelson Mandela Foundation, a Soros Equality Fellow with the Open Society Foundations, and a Senior Fellow for the Sikh Coalition.</p> <p class="font-claude-response-body break-words whitespace-normal leading-[1.7]">Simran earned graduate degrees from Harvard University and Columbia University, and an undergraduate degree from Trinity University. He writes regularly for major outlets, including Harvard Business Review, TIME Magazine, and Religion News Service.</p> <p class="font-claude-response-body break-words whitespace-normal leading-[1.7]">Born and raised in San Antonio, Texas, Simran now lives in New York City with his wife and two daughters, where he enjoys running, writing, and chasing his kids.</p>
